Aspen may be the most well known ski resort in the world. Located right in the heart of Colorado, it is a town with character and unmatched skiing. One of the best parts of visiting Colorado is that many of the resorts are within a few hours of each other. If you do not have a rental and wish to purchase a shuttle ticket for the commute then Powderhound has many benefits to offer.

If you view a map of Colorado, Aspen seems fairly close to Breckenridge, however in the winter time you cannot take the quicker route and you must take I 70 due to road closures. This makes the drive from Breckenridge to Aspen longer than the drive from the airport. Depending on road conditions time can vary. Is there a shared shuttle bus from Aspen to Breckenridge? We have the option available only on certain dates.

We have listed below a short breakdown of some of our popular inter mountain routes, their times, and average distances. These are not all the routes Powderhound services, but just a sample of the intermountain routes we provide. As with travel through any mountains, travel times can vary greatly depending no the climate and road conditions.

  • Vail/Beaver Creek to Breckenridge
    Popular route as these routes are within an hour of each other. Average travel time: 45 minutes - 1 hour
  • Vail/Beaver Creek to Aspen
    Many international travelers use this route as it allows them to see a lot of Colorado in one trip.
  • Breckenridge to Steamboat Springs
    fairly common, but nearly as much as some other inter mountain routes. Average travel time: 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Nice drive up north of Silverthorne through Kremmling and over Rabbit Ears Pass.
